Phil Gordon has had mixed results in 2007, having only cashed twice at the World Series of Poker, but both of his cashes were very good, having had a 15th and a 28th place finish. Phil has also had a 4th place finish at a WSOP Circuit Event in New Orleans and several other good finishes in 2007.

Phil Gordon is a very smart and well-traveled man. He was born on July 6, 1970, and he graduated from Georgia Tech with a computer science degree in 1991. Phil went to work became the first employee of a new company. The company was eventually bought out, and Phil used his share of the money to travel all across the globe, journeying to six different continents and more than 50 different countries.

Phil had a quiet poker career until he had a 4th place finish at the 2001 World Series of Poker Main Event. His success grew from there, making two final tables the next year in Omaha Hi/Lo and Pot Limit Holdem. The World Poker Tour formed later in 2002, and Phil Gordon won the professional division of the inaugural WPT tournament in Aruba, but would lose to Juha Hellpi, who was the champion of the amateur division.

In 2003 Phil performed the expert commentary on the Binion’s Horsheshoe’s live internet broadcast of the 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event and also did daily radio reports on the event. Phil Gordon had more WPT success in 2004, when he eliminated two players in one hand to emerge victorious at the World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Stars event. Chris Moneymaker was one of the two players eliminated, and Phil collected the bounty on Moneymaker’s head, as the World Poker Tour had set bounties on the heads of several poker celebrities.

Phil Gordon was the expert host of Bravo’s Celebrity Poker Showdown, but gave way to his fellow Phil, the now 11-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth, in 2006. Phil has authored two books on poker, Poker: The Real Deal and Phil Gordon’s Little Green Book: Lessons and Teachings in No Limit Hold’em and has also released a DVD, Final Table Poker.
